When a player becomes synonymous with a city for his career, it can be tough to see him head to another team once the incumbent feels he has nothing left to give. That was the case with LaDainian Tomlinson. Although he had decent years with the Jets, it never felt right. Nonetheless, he’s a Charger through and through, and the hammer that point home, the team will retire his #21 jersey and induct him into the franchise’s hall of fame.
LaDainian Tomlinson, the NFL’s fifth all-time leading rusher, will return to Qualcomm Stadium this November to see his No. 21 retired as he enters the Chargers’ Hall of Fame.
The team announced the news on Wednesday, scheduling a news conference for Thursday and the official ceremonies for Nov. 22, when the Chargers will play the Chiefs at home on Sunday Night Football.
