If you don’t like James Dolan’s move of bringing Isiah Thomas back to MSG to serve as President of the WNBA’s Liberty, you’re not alone. Phil Jackson is also not a fan of the hire, per the NY Daily News.
Jackson is “not happy” with the move as he feels Thomas was brought back to New York to wait in line for him to mess and claim his job.
All that went wrong in New York during Isiah’s tenure was not exclusively Isiah’s fault, but purely from a public relations perspective, this move by Dolan is questionable.
Jackson, according to a team source, has expressed concern over Thomas’ presence at the Garden, further fueling speculation over Jackson’s future with the Knicks and whether Thomas could be in line to eventually replace Jackson as Knicks president.
“He’s not happy about it but what can he do about it,” said one Garden official, who requested anonymity. “This is just the start of it.”
