In game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the Cavs JR Smith was absolutely on fire as he hit contested shot after contested shot. He finished the game with 8 3-pointers and just about all of them were made with a hand in his face. He never shies away from the moment and sometimes thrives under pressure.
In fact, JR said as much after the game. He conceded that he’d rather take contested shots versus wide-open ones.

Would you know that the stats actually back up his statement. Statistically, he truly shoots better with a hand in his face.
