There’s a lot of discussion when a player leaves school early to start his NBA career, but players going back to school to finish up their degree should be talked about as equally. Sometimes, it would be financially irresponsible for a highly touted player not to leave college early (as backwards as that sounds), so it’s special when they decide to return and finish what they’ve started.
Damian Lillard is the latest to do so. When he left Weber State in 2012 to enter the NBA draft, he was six credits shy of graduating. When he dons his cap and gown this May, he’ll join the likes of Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal and Vince Carter, to name a few.
