Michael Crabtree to Visit Miami Dolphins

With the majority of NFL free agents already with their new or incumbent team, the “second-tier” players are getting looks now. It had been widely reported that Michael Crabtree would not be back with the 49ers and he’s set to pay the Dolphins a visit.

Miami just recently parted with Mike Wallace, so they have a need for depth at the WR position. Meanwhile, the mass exodus in San Francisco appears to be continuing.

Michael Crabtree, the only prominent 49ers free agent who has yet to find a team, will visit the Miami Dolphins today, a league source confirmed. Yahoo Sports first reported the Dolphins’ interest.

Crabtree, 27, is perhaps the best free-agent receiver still available. He was the 49ers’ leading receiver in 2012, catching 85 passes for 1,105 yards and nine touchdowns. The following spring, however, he tore his Achilles’ tendon and missed most of the 2013 season.
