DeMarco Murray Visits Eagles, Expected to Sign

DeMarco Murray is visiting the Eagles today and per Adam Schefter, there’s mutual interest. Of course the Eagles want Murray, but it’s somewhat surprising that Murray wants Philly. The direction of the offense seems murky, given Chip Kelly’s recent moves.

Per Schefter on Facebook:

Pro-Bowl RB DeMarco Murray is flying to Philadelphia this morning with the expectation he will be an Eagle, per a league source.

Dallas has had numerous chances to resign Murray throughout the year and now.

Aside from the contract, the Eagles are most appealing to Murray because of his belief in their chance to win.

Murray would consider a final, last minute offer from the cowboys, per source, but he’s going to Philadelphia with the intent to sign.

Given his breakout season for Dallas last year, a move to a division-rival will not sit well with Cowboys Country. Dez Bryant has already “warned” Murray not to go to Philly on Twitter:

And all of this casts doubt on Ryan Mathews potentially leaving San Diego for Philly. Initially, it sounded like a done deal, but apparently he’s holding off to see what Murray does. Smart man.
