We knew before the all-star game that Carmelo Anthony would be shut down immediately after the break. Pushing his sore knee any further just doesn’t seem to make any sense. In fact, you thought this news would’ve come months ago.
Nonetheless, the inevitable is here as the Knicks announce Melo will have surgery and recovery time could be 4-6 months. Judging by that timetable, he should be ready to go for the start of next season.
The New York Knickerbockers announced today that Carmelo Anthony will have season-ending left knee surgery. The procedure, which will be performed by Team Orthopedist Dr. Answorth Allen, includes a left knee patella tendon debridement and repair.
