The Lakers have been the butt of jokes this season, but in reality, if they were in the East, they’d probably be in playoff contention as we got closer to the end of the season. But, they’re not.
In the West, they have no shot. And while they aren’t mathematically eliminated yet, head coach Byron Scott says if/when that happens, Kobe may be shut down.
“This is going to be game by game,” Scott said. “And I think it’s going to be that way until the end of the season or until March or February if we ever decide to say, ‘OK, let’s just shut it down for the rest of the season.’ We haven’t got nowhere near that point at this particular time.”
