Cam Newton Involved in Car Crash

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton was involved in a car crash this afternoon. Judging by the pics below, it looks serious but it’s far too early for us to speculate. Early reports indicate he’s OK and is being taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.

More details as they become available, but here are some details from the Charlotte Observer:

Cam’s truck was overturned on a bridge in NC … just a few blocks from Bank of America Stadium where the Panthers play.

Cam was seen on his back on the side of the bridge where the accident took place … grimacing in pain. Several people were seen tending to the 25-year-old QB.

We’re told Cam kept trying to stand up after the accident … but couldn’t … and eventually relented and waited for help to arrive.

Emergency vehicles are at the scene treating Newton. There are two ambulances on the scene along with a fire truck.

We’re told there is also a sedan involved in the wreck. It was sitting at least 50 feet from the truck.
