LeBron May Push For Removal of Max Contracts

On the heels of the announcement of the massive $24 billion TV deal the NBA just inked with ESPN/ABC and Turner, things are beginning take shape. We now know by how much the salaray cap will increase. This means more money available for players. Conversely, it also means more money that owners aren’t going to want to give players. This new TV deal is why LeBron James only signed for 2-years with the Cavs, because the knew the cap would eventually increase.

However, this new money could be a gift and a curse as it could directly lead to a lengthy lockout in 2017. Especially when you have someone like LeBron James pushing for no more max contracts. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst on Twitter:
