Several months ago, the Golden State Warriors backcourt duo of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson claimed to the best backcourt in the NBA. Then John Wall said that made-up distinction belonged to he and Brad Beal.
Earlier today, Beal added momentum to that by stating:
“I think we’re definitely the best back court in the league,” Beal declared at his team’s Media Day at Verizon Center Monday. “Just in terms of what we’re capable of doing, the confidence that we have in that. At the same time we got to prove it.”
Dion Waiters of the Cavaliers, who may come off the bench, didn’t agree when he heard this:
Dion Waiters on John Wall and Bradley Beal proclaiming themselves the best backcourt in the league: “That’s nonsense”

John Wall, then caught wind and added:
“[The Cavaliers] haven’t seen a playoff game yet, so when they make one, they can start talking,” Wall said.
“If you’re going to be the best backcourt, you have to start,” Wall said. “This is the year [Waiters is] probably starting, so let’s see if they’re the best backcourt.”
You got all that? If it’s an argument of John Wall/Brad Beal vs. Kyrie Irving/Dion Waiters, I’d give the edge to Washington.
