Josh Gordon Not Eligible to Play in CFL While Serving NFL Suspension

Now that Josh Gordon’s 1-year suspension has been upheld by the NFL, he has reportedly been thinking about playing in the CFL this year in order to stay in shape and make some money.

However, we can stop all of that talk because he’s ineligible to do so, according to NFL.com, for a couple of reasons:

1) A suspended NFL player cannot play in another league while serving his suspension

2) Even if he weren’t suspended, since he’s under contract by the Browns, they would have to grant him permission to do so (which of course, they wouldn’t).

So, see you next year Josh. The time off may actually do him some good.
