Phil Jackson may be involved in his first move as Knicks team president. Per Marc Stein of ESPN, the Knicks are on the verge of a deal with the Mavericks, in a move that would send Tyson Chandler back to Dallas, along with Raymond Felton.
In return, the Knicks would receive point guards Jose Calderon and Shane Larkin, along with the aging Dalembert and Wayne Ellington. For a while now, the Knicks have sorely needed a young, seedy point guard to run their offense. Calderon and Larkin aren’t all-star players, but they’re certainly improvements over Felton and Pablo Prigioni.
Expect more moves from the Knicks under Jackson, as this begins the process of freeing up salaray cap room.
