Source: Derek Fisher to Beome Next Knicks Head Coach; 5 Years, $25 Million

Well, it appears as if Phil Jackon finally got what he has been seeking: a head coached who has absolutely zero coaching experience. After Steve Kerr took the Golden State job, Phil has been on the prowl for a former player he can mold.

That has apparently come by way of Derek Fisher. I’ve saying for months that the Knicks job isn’t an on-the-job-training job, but let’s see if Fisher proves that theory wrong.

According to Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck and Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter, Fisher has accepted the position:

 

 

 

Oh, by the way. Fisher hasn’t even retired as a player yet.
