Michael Sam Implies Teams Passed on Him Because He’s Gay

Michael Sam was the talk of the sporting world over the weekend. Less for being drafted, and more because of what ensued immediately after he was drafted.

On an conference call with the media after being drafted, Sam stated that feels he should’ve been drafted much sooner. He’s almost implying that teams passed on him because he is gay, according to CBS St. Louis:

“From last season alone, I should’ve been in the first three rounds. SEC Defensive Player of the Year, All-American,” Sam said during a conference call, adding that other teams chickened out on selecting him.

That may be true, but of course, we’ll never know. But what’s even more interesting than that Sam implying teams “chickened out,” is that he’s using that as motivation and is plotting revenge on the QBs of the teams that passed on him.

“I knew I was going to get picked somewhere. Every team that passed me, I was thinking how I’m going to sack their quarterback,” Sam said.

Fun times lie ahead.
