UConn’s second year head coach Kevin Ollie is the talk of the sports world after leading his Huskies to a national championship in only his first tournament appearance. As result, it has been widely rumored that he will be pursued by NBA teams. You’d like to think he would hang around Storrs, CT for at least a little while longer before entertaining that.
Ollie was guest this morning on ESPN’s Mike and Mike, and Mike Greenberg asked Ollie about his NBA intentions:
Greenberg: It has been reported by our Jeff Goodman that NBA teams may have their eye on you. Is that something that interests you?
Ollie: No, not now. I don’t know what God has in store for me down the road.
“Not now?” That doesn’t sound right. Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but he could’ve been more convincing in the way he chose to shoot those rumors down. Or, maybe that’s something that’s in the back of his mind.
