As if the Jets needed any more attention surrounding their ever-entertaining QB controversy, Rex Ryan inserted Mark Sanchez late in the game Saturday night (after Geno Smith proved that he was a rookie for 3 quarters) and that resulted in a shoulder injury for Sanchez. A right shoulder injury.
At this point, we don’t know how serious it is, but if it’s significant, Geno is the starter by default.
But why put Sanchez in the game so late, when he’s playing with guys who will likely not even make that team? Rex set Sanchez up for failure here and he was in rare form in the post-game presser when asked about his decision making.
