The Aaron Hernandez – Odin Lloyd murder case appears to be unfolding quickly. While there are others being questioned in the killing, Hernandez is the only one who has actually been charged with murder. Take that for what it’s worth.
There’s a lot of he said-he said going on now between all those being questioned. In fact, one of the suspects, Carlos Ortiz, is apparently singing like a canary.
According to Bristol County, Massachusetts prosecutors (via USA Today), here’s a timeline of events the night Odin Lloyd was shot and killed, as police are still trying to determine who it was that pulled the trigger:
June 16, about 9:05 p.m. ET: Hernandez texts Lloyd: “I’m coming to grab that tonight u gon b around I need dat and we could step for a little again.” Lloyd did not immediately respond.
9:34 p.m.: Hernandez texts again: “Waddup.” Lloyd responds: “Aite (meaning all right) where?” Hernandez: “idk (I don’t know) it don’t matter but imam hit you when I’m dat way like las time if my phone dies imam hit u when I charge it which will be in a lil.”
9:35 p.m.: Hernandez texts Wallace: “Get ur (butt) up here.”
10 p.m.: Lloyd texts Hernandez: “Aite idk anything goin on.” Hernandez replies: “I’ll figure it out ill hit u on the way.”
10:21 p.m.: Hernandez receives a text from a man police describe as “the other male associate” saying, “On r way a … God bless.” Hernandez responds: “Bet hurry up tell fish to drive …”
10:23 p.m.: Hernandez texts Wallace again: “Hurry ur (butt) up…”
June 17, 12:22 a.m.: Lloyd texts Hernandez: “We still on.”
About 12:40 a.m.: Surveillance video shows Jenkins with Hernandez as Wallace and “a third male individual,” believed to be Ortiz, enter Hernandez’s home in North Attleborough, Mass.
About 1:09 a.m.: Surveillance video shows three men, believed to be Hernandez, Wallace and Ortiz, leave Hernandez’s home in a silver Nissan Altima. Police think Wallace was driving.
1:22 to 2:32 a.m.: Lloyd receives five phone calls from a number later traced to a cellphone used by Wallace.
About 2 a.m.: On their way to pick up Lloyd, Hernandez, Wallace and Ortiz stop at the Blue Hill Express Service Station on Route 138 in Canton, Mass.
2:33 a.m.: Surveillance video from a camera at a home across the street from Lloyd’s house on Fayston Street in Boston shows Lloyd getting into the car with Hernandez, Wallace and Ortiz, police say.
3:07 a.m.: Lloyd texts his sister Thibou: “U saw who I’m with.”
3:11 a.m.: Lloyd texts Thibou again: “hello.”
3:19 a.m.: Thibou texts back: “my phone was dead who was that?” Lloyd responds: “Nfl.” Thibou later tells police she understood “Nfl” meant Hernandez.
3:22 a.m.: Thibou texts Lloyd again: “lol your aggy” (meaning Lloyd was aggravating her).
3:23 a.m.: Lloyd sent his last text to Thibou: “just so you know.”
About 3:25 a.m.: Lloyd is shot and killed in an industrial park roughly a half-mile from Hernandez’s home.
3:26 a.m.: The Altima returns to Hernandez’s home. Police think Hernandez was driving.
3:27 a.m.: Home surveillance video shows three men entering.
