Dwyane Wade’s roller-coaster performances, and general decline in overall productivity, are probably part father-time and part physical ailment. Wade was hampered in the playoffs last year by his knees as well, and was forced to sit out the Olympics in order to undergo surgery.
During the playoffs this year, it’s the same conversation with Wade again. Although he’s shown flashes of brilliance, you wonder if he’ll ever be the same.
However, we do have some insight into what has been ailing Wade. According to Dr. Robert Klapper, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, Wade has a couple of things going on; one of them is arthritis. The bone bruise has been widely reported, but the chronic arthritis is the scary one.
It will be interesting to see what he has left in the tank next year.
Dwayne Wade’s knees are both chronic arthritis in one and acute bone bruise in the other. Treatment is DIFFERENT for each. Heroic effort!

Heroic? No. A great display of toughness? Sure.
