Celtics Trade Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce to Brooklyn Nets

Well, this certainly didn’t take long at all.

Earlier in the day on Thursday, it was rumored that this potential deal had legs. Apparently, that wasn’t just a rumor. Yahoo!’s Adrian Wojnarowski is confirming that Kevin Garnett has agreed to the trade, sending both he and Paul Pierce to Brooklyn.

This trade also sends the Celtics into a full rebuild-mode.

This move certainly makes the Nets a more interesting team, but I’m not sure it makes them significantly better. Either way, it’s a move they had to make if Boston was interested and KG waived his no-trade clause.

Of course, the deal cannot become official until July 10.
