I’m surprised something like this doesn’t happen much more often. I mean, the warning track is only helpful if you know you’re approaching the warning track. Otherwise it’s useless.
Bryce Harper left the game after this collision with the outfield wall vs. Dodgers, in a play where it looked like he had no clue where he was on the field. Typically, outfielders put their arm out to feel for the wall as they’re approaching it, but Harper didn’t do that. Hopefully he’ll be OK.
He did, however, receive 11 stitches under his chin.
