Shabazz Muhammad’s Father Indicted For Federal Bank Fraud and Conspiracy

To say that Shabazz Muhammad has had a rough year would be an understatement. Some say he under performed during his year at UCLA, and who can forget the scandal about the misrepresentation of his age? To make matters worse, his NBA draft stock is falling due to his Draft Combine showing.

And now this.

Shabazz’s father, Ronald Holmes, has been indicted on federal bank fraud and conspiracy fraud, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The report claims the following:

The indictment states that Holmes and his partners obtained “mortgage loans by fraudulent means to buy houses,” from 2006 to 2009.

The U.S. attorney’s office is seeking to recover $2.5 million from Holmes.

According to the court documents, Holmes is being detained pending a detention hearing.

This won’t impact Shabazz’s draft stock, but I’m sure it’s the last thing he wants to deal with right now.
