Angels’ Mike Trout the Youngest to Hit For Cycle Since 1929

Angels fans needed this. After acquiring big names during the past few offseasons, the team has underachieved mightily as they currently find themselves next to last in the AL West. Needing something to be positive about, Mike Trout provided that tonight.

In a 12-0 blowout of the Mariners, Mike Trout (21) became the youngest player to hit for the cycle since Hall of Famer Mel Ott did so in 1929, according to Bill Shaikin of the LA Times. His home run in the 8th inning sealed it for him. Trout went 4-5 on the night and is now hitting .293 with 9 HRs and 34 RBIs.
