Andrew Wiggins Headed to Kansas

After much anticipation, Andrew Wiggins has decided to head to Kansas.

Wiggins is widely regarded as the best high school basketball player since LeBron James and many thought he would be headed to Kentucky. Myself included. I felt that way for a while and after I saw this brief interview last night, where he talked about the damage Kentucky could do next year if he was on the squad, it confirmed it for me. I mean, he said it would be the “best college team ever” (granted, he is 18 and probably never heard of the truly great college teams of all time).

But that’s not the the case. Bill Self hill have the services of Andrew Wiggins for one season before he’s the number one overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

If you haven’t seen any of Wiggins yet, here’s a highlight reel. From what I know of him, he can certainly finish around the basket, but I’d like to see him tighten up his handle just  a tad. Every player, even Wiggins, can improve in some regard.

  1. Cal must have spent all his loot on the rest of the class, so Self was able to make a bigger offer…KU makes the least sense of the four schools. FSU: Big man on campus, family ties. UNC: Legit title contender with Wiggins. UK: World Domination. KU: Legit Big 12 runner up with Wiggins.
