White Sox vs. Nationals Game Delayed Because Umps Were Stuck in Traffic

The greater Washington, D.C. area boasts one of the nation’s most congested areas, and traffic can be crucial.

So crucial, that even MLB umpires get caught up in the rush hour mayhem.

Tonight’s game between the Chicago White Sox and Washington Nationals was delayed because the umpires were caught in traffic, according to CBS DC.

It’s amazing that something like this happens. Aren’t they usually at the ballpark hours before the schedules start time?

The start of the Chicago White Sox game at the Washington Nationals has been delayed because the umpires got caught in traffic.

The game, which was scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. EDT, is expected to start at 7:20 p.m.

The Nationals say the umpires’ preparation for the game was delayed because of their late arrival at the ballpark.
