John Wall made his season debut for the Washington Wizards on Saturday, and the Wiz are currently riding a 3-game win-streak; by far their longest of the season. Their latest victory came this evening at the expense of Orlando. While Wall appeared a bit out of shape during his absence, he looked fine tonight. Just ask Orlando’s Ishmael Smith. Wall completely drops Ish at the end of the third quarter.
This reminds of the NCAA tournament game from a few years ago when Wall’s Kentucky squad defeated Ish’s Wake Forest crew. I mean, Wall didn’t drop him in that game, but it didn’t seem as if they cared for each other. And judging by Wall’s expression here, not much has changed.
But in fairness to Smith, maybe Wall’s move was retaliation for Smith jumping over him, then blocking his shot in the 2nd quarter:
