Bill Simmons Calls Mike D’Antoni a JV High School Coach

Having watched Mike D’Antoni very closely when he was head coach of the Knicks, I was able to identify his deficiencies as a coach. Based on that, I scratched my head when the Lakers chose him to replace Mike Brown.

With D’Antoni as coach of the team for the majority of the season, the Lakers are 17-24. That’s good enough for the worst record in the Kobe Bryant era at the halfway point of a season.

But oddly enough, there were many who thought D’Antoni was going to work out well for this Lakers team. One of those was ESPN NBA analyst, Bill Simmons who tweeted the following on the heels of the Lakers most recent loss. Now, I’m no D’Antoni fan, but Simmons may have gone too far.
