The only thing worse than tearing your ACL is tearing your ACL on the first day of the playoffs. Not only does that mean that your playoff hopes are dashed (if you’re the best player on said team), but you’ll also miss most of the following season. That, of course, was the fate for Derrick Rose last year.
It was reported earlier that he’d be out all of this season, but he appears to be ahead of schedule. Rose has been a full participant at Bulls practice, minus contact, for the past two days reports CSN Chicago:
But CSNChicago.com has learned that over the last two days, minus the contact portions, the former league MVP has been a full participant in the team’s practices at the Berto Center.
However, that doesn’t mean Rose will return to the court in the near future, as it was always the plan to have him increase his basketball workload in an effort to get familiar with his new teammates, have a comfort level in running the offense and regain a semblance of his timing, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
