Wade Calls Rondo’s Flagrant a ‘Punk Play’ [Video]

The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics are as biggest rivalry going in the NBA today. It’s no wonder the League schedules them on opening night almost every year.

That proved to be the case last night when Rondo committed a flagrant foul on Dwyane Wade with less than a minute to play and the game already decided. Now, it doesn’t really appear to be a flagrant, but it was an unnecessary foul nonetheless. And Wade seems to agree with that assessment:

“It was a punk play by him,” Wade said. “The league will take care of it. He clotheslined me – with two hands.”

“We’re in the NBA. I’ve got my kids watching. So I stopped,” Wade said. “I’m here to play basketball. That’s what we are, we’re basketball players. If you want to do something else, go do something else, boxing and all those other things. Like I said, I was glad I was able to stop myself in that very moment and move on from it.”

Here’s the foul in question:
