Former pitcher, David Cone is the color analyst for the Yankees on the YES Network. Cone is good at what he does, but he may have made a big mistake. During Tuesday night’s Yankee telecast, Cone referred to Ichiro Suzuki’s bat as a “chopstick”.
In listening to it, it doesn’t sound as if there was any attempt at malice. It just came out wrong. If that were Curtis Granderson who hit that chopper, Cone may have said the same thing. Either way, this certainly will not go over well.
You can expect some sort of awkward apology to follow.
