NFL — 18 September 2012
As a kid, I have very vivid memories of watching NFL Films, particularly during the summer when there was no football. Steve Sabol, along with his father Ed, was the man behind it all. He would turn old NFL footage into a movie of sorts.
From the voice over, to the music selection to the slow-motion play, NFL Films was legendary.
Today, at the age of 69, Steve Sabol lost his battle with brain cancer.
Even though he never played or coached, he had as much to do with the popularity of the NFL as anyone who was directly involved with the League. As proof of that claim, he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame last year.
