Chris Cooley may not be a household name NFL-wide, but to Washington Redskins faithful, he’s probably the most popular and beloved player in the Dan Snyder era. For months now, it wasn’t a certainty that the often-injured tight end would make the team due to the emergence of Fred Davis. But since the season begins next week, many thought that Cooley would survive the final wave of cuts since releasing him so close to the beginning of the season would preclude him from finding employment elsewhere. But Mike Shanahan cut him anyway and ‘Skins fans were not happy.
