HBO’s “Hard Knocks” certainly didn’t waste any time when they decided to show the fallout from Chad Johnson’s recent transgressions. About 48 hours after his arrest, Chad Johnson was released by the Miami Dolphins.

Last night during the second episode of “Hard Knocks”, they decided to show the meeting between Johnson and coach Joe Philbin where Philbin told Chad his services were no longer needed. I was somewhat surprised Chad opted for having this meeting with the cameras around, but I guess he really didn’t have much say in the matter. Also, it sounded like Philbin wanted Chad gone before this, and Chad simply gave Philbin a reason to get rid of him. But that begs the question: why did they sign Chad in the first place then?

Either way, I’m sure that episode set a “Hard Knocks” ratings record for HBO.
