Several weeks ago, when U.S. women’s track star, Lolo Jones, tweeted (unprompted) that she is a virgin, I was convinced that she was only out for attention because she had absolutely no reason to share that. Well, it worked. While I knew who Lolo was because I vividly remember her tripping over that hurdle in the Beijing 2008 games, the vast majority of sports fans had never even heard her name before. But they know it now. Mission accomplished, Lolo.

But she wasn’t done making lightning rod Twitter comments. There was this, today:

USA Men’s Archery lost the gold medal to Italy but that’s ok, we are Americans… When’s da Gun shooting competition?

I’m not sure what she’s implying here, but during a patriotic and proud event such as the Olympics probably isn’t the best time to try out your new standup comedy routine.
