Kim Jones from NFL Network was right. Joe Paterno’s statue on the campus of Penn State University has been taken down as of about 8:20am ET this morning (about 45 minutes ago). They didn’t really have a choice. The public outcry and pressure were going to increase, and this demonstrates that they are taking this seriously. Expect any and everything bearing Joe Paterno’s name on that campus to evenutally be removed.

Penn State President Rodney Erickson announced the decision Sunday morning, calling the statue “a source of division and an obstacle to healing.”
