If you thought Chad Johnson was a bit clownish for changing his last name to Ochocinco several years ago, you certainly weren’t alone (raises hand).

But think of it this way: Chad Johnson was a very good wide receiver who wasn’t overly popular and didn’t have any endorsements. Chad Ochocinco is a not-as-good wide receiver, but is wildly popular, and has endorsements. Translation: Chad won.

Chad Ochocinco has officially changed his name back to Chad Johnson. The main reason behind the name change was due to his marriage to Evelyn Lozada. The couple preferred Evelyn’s last name to be a real name and not the fun “Ochocinco” character we have come to love.
