I have always followed the Knicks very closely and that was no different when Isiah Thomas was in town. I contest that Zeke made mistakes while in New York, but I’ve always thouht it to be unfair to pin EVERYTHING on him. There’s absolutely no way it all should fall on his shoulders. There’s plenty of blame to spread around, but I’ll spare you with who I think should be blamed with what, because that’s water under the bridge now.
But the fact that he was just fired from a school like Florida International University isn’t a good look for him. You would think a school like FIU would want to sign a Hall of Famer to a lifetime contract, for recruiting purposes if nothing else. Such is not the case though. The school has released him of his duties after just three seasons.
For more than a year now, it has been rumored that Isiah was a defacto advisor to Knicks owner, James Dolan. Does this mean that Isiah will assume a more formal role with the orange and blue now? If that wouldn’t cause a PR nightmare, I think Dolan would bring Isiah back in some capacity. But since it will, I don’t think it will happen.
