Rose Says He’s a ‘Superstar’ So He Should Get More Calls

Derrick Rose’s humility is extremely rare, and it’s also very refreshing. He’s the reigning MVP, young, and is playing for his hometown team. Based on all of that you’d thing that he’d be very arrogant but he’s just the opposite. I’ll tell you this much:  if that were me, I’d probably let people know how good I was. But despite his mild-mannered nature, he still does his fair share of barking at the refs when he thinks he should’ve gotten a call. Now he takes it a step further and pulls the ‘superstar’ card as he complains about no calls. CSN Chicago has Rose’s direct quote, which I’m surprised by…

Rose, utilizing his typical attacking style of play, drove to the basket time and again against New York’s defense and while he went to the charity stripe nine times, he expressed his displeasure with the officiating afterwards. “I’ve got to be the only superstar in the league that’s going through what I’m going through right now,” he said, referring to his lack of free-throw attempts. “But I can’t say too much about it.”

*Update*: Rose was fined $25K for this outburst. Apparently, league officials liken this to a butt twitpic.
