Duke’s Austin Rivers to Enter NBA Draft

Last year when Kyrie Irving left Duke after just one season, I stated that it hurt Duke’s image. Duke has never been a “one and done” factory so the fact that Coach K recruited a guy who was obviously going to stay for one year is puzzling. Now there’s Rivers. He was tabbed as a “one and doner” since he was a junior in High School. I don’t know if the fact that he’s Doc Rivers’ son made Coach K take a flyer on him. But is this a sign of things to come for Duke? Rivers has announced that he is entering the NBA draft and will hire an agent.

But I think he’ll be a good pro. I’ve heard his NBA comparison being Dwyane Wade. I’m not so sure about that one. The jury is still out for me. But I really wish someone will tell Rivers to keep his right elbow in on his jumpshots. It will improve his range.
